Summertime Adventures

Yes, we are still alive and kicking! I know some of you were beginning to wonder what happened to us, since we seem to have dropped off the face of the earth. So, here is a quick update on what we've been up to this summer:

The boys have been loving the summer movies at the Scera Theater. The theater sells popcorn and juice for $.50, so the boys have been earning and saving money; if they do their jobs and obey they can earn nickels and dimes to put in their buckets to save up for their snacks each week.

We have been down swiming at Misty River Resort with Grandpa and Grandma Allred, the boys enjoy it so much. They love floating the river in the big tubes. They have also recently been introduced to fishing, and ask almost every day if they can go fishing at Grandpa's river.

Dana and Thomas were in town for a week, it was great having them around! They helped me paint and entertained the boys. Ever since Dana moved out of the basement, the boys miss her terribly and were thrilled that she came to visit! She introduced them to Thomas and they instantly loved him. Hopefully Dana, Grandpa and Grandma don't feel too sad that they have been replaced as the boys favorite people in the whole world!

We have been painting the house and cleaning and organizing and packing. That's right, we're selling the house and moving (hopefully, but I guess you never know what's going to happen). It has been keeping us very busy, getting the yard and house ready. I'm so glad that I've been feeling a bit better these last few weeks so I'm able to do a little each day to clean and organize and pack.

We went to the Allred Family Reunion in Ferron, we all loved the time with my family, it seems like we never see family and friends as often as we'd like. The boys had such a wonderful time, the older cousins taught them how to gut and clean a fish (thanks Jade!), we went hiking and played night games. Sadly, Mike wasn't able to come with us, it seems that they just can't survive without him at work, so he stayed home for the weekend, and, for once, he didn't have to listen to me complain about the 15+ hour days he was working.

The summer seems to be flying by, I can't believe we have less than a month until school starts!

Your family is so cute. Congrats on the new little bun in the oven. Do you know if it is a girl or a boy yet? When do you find out? Good luck with your move and everything that moving entails. Keep in touch!

You have relatives in Ferron? What a crazy small world! My mom was raised there and my grandparents still live there. Sounds like you had a fun summer. I'm excited to start school though. :)
