Yes, that is, in fact, grass that you see. There's quite a few dandelions and other weeds mixed in there as well (enough that we don't dare spread weed and feed on it for fear that there'd be nothing left), but I'd wager that at least a third of that green is actual grass!
The lilacs are taking over! I love it, if I open the windows the scent wafts through the house and makes everything smell beautiful! There are so many flowers on this tree that they're weighing down the branches, a few of them hang soooooo low.
Alex loves the flowers, the following snapshots are some of Alex's artistic photographs of the beautiful flowers.

We are soooo proud of our garden (obviously, we're posting about it on our blog, LOL)! It doesn't get weeded as much as it should, but it's still growing splendidly!
We have green leaf lettuce

And red leaf lettuce

Alex is showing you the lettuce...

And yes, he did eat it!!! I had to take a picture to prove that he ate a green vegetable!
And believe it or not, he did it of his own free will, I was shocked!
Alex's favorite are the peas, every day when he gets off the bus he runs to the back yard to check his peas to make sure they're still growing.
Wesley loves the carrots, I know, it's not natural for a little boy to like carrots, but give him a choice between a tootsie roll and a carrot and 9 times out of 10 he'll choose the carrot!
He's so excited to be growing his own!

Finally, we have the strawberries (pay no attention to the weeds),
Alex likes to count the blossoms so he knows how many strawberries we'll have.

We still have plans to add some tomatoes, zucchini, summer squash and hopefully a pumpkin to our garden, although I still have yet to find places, on our teeny lot we don't have many extra corners to put things.
I know some of you are wondering why there are no pictures of Wesley in this post... No, we didn't lose him, he was sound asleep on the couch. I'm afraid he hasn't been feeling very well this weekend; nothing serious, just a little cranky with an upset stomach. I'm sure he'll be back to his crazy self soon enough, it was nice to have him ask to snuggle though, and sit on my lap for more than 1.5 seconds.

I'm so jealous of your yard and garden! They look beautiful. I can't wait until I can have one.
Kelsey-I would love to have a yard like yours-weeds just add character right? Also congratulations on the twins-I can't say that I am jealous but you seem like you are such a great mom and that you have such a wonderful attitude with whatever challenges life throws you that I'm sure you will be great-and then maybe you should write a book to help moms like me know how to get through the not so hard challenges!
Your yard looks great. I think it is so fun that the boys are loving it and tending to it so much!
